King Shocks are one of the premier offroad shock companies, well known globally as having superb everyday ride quality mixed with go-fast attitude and handling. Known for their high speed performance, King Shocks use the highest grade materials every step of the way through the coilover and shock building process. "Nothing rides like a King" is frequently thrown around the industry, which we can agree with.
The build doesn't stop with the coilovers and shocks, there are variations to these dampers which provide assistance with greater weight requirements, lift heights, and other suspension related needs.
Front Coilovers
25001-119 / EXT / A
There are 3 versions of the front coilovers; all 3 are quite different with their own requirements and considerations. All coilovers come standard with 600lb rates on the Tacoma, but can be upgraded to 650 or 700.
- The standard option is preset at about 2" of lift from King out of the box, with the option to preload the spring for 2.5" of lift without too much affect on the ride quality. Preloading further to 3" will impact ride comfort and overall performance.
- The extended travel version has removed a limiting spacer in the shock to allow for about 0.5" of more down travel, as well as some additional preload if you want to push the shocks to 3.5" of lift. Going to 3-3.5" is technically allowed, but the sweet spot of travel vs comfort and performance is in the 2.5" range.
- The coilovers for the 6" lift systems will not lift your Tacoma 6", but rather they are built to replace the entire shock tower in an existing 6" lift system, whether thats from existing coilovers, or factory struts/springs and a large spacer.
Upper Control Arm Options
All available arms allow for more suspension articulation compared to stock arms on a lifted vehicle, and easier alignment, which is important when lifting the vehicle 3-3.5".

Rear Lift Options
There are many options to lift the rear of your Tacoma, with their own pros and cons. Traditionally we recommend a progressive add-a-leaf setup that both improves handling and height requirements with additional weight, without negatively affecting ride quality too much. Old Man Emu leaf packs come with the required Fitting Kit (FK29), Ubolts (OMEU53B), and Rear Spring Bushing Kit (OMESB108).

Rear Bumpstops / Spring Helpers
These options provide additional help to the rear suspension, whether through smoother bump compliance from a loaded rear end (SumoSprings), or through smoother axle performance while offroad and going through rough terrain (Timbren).
The King Shocks Bumpstop is a high performance, bolt-on bumpstop package that dramatically improves bottom-out performance, without affecting rebound rates.
